Nothing makes me happier than receiving mail - especially when I have no idea what's in the box! (As long as it's not Gwyneth Paltrow's head). So naturally, subscription boxes are right up my alley! I have been DYING to try the PopSugar Must Have box for several years now and when my Grandma started asking me (far too early) what I wanted for Christmas, I figured I'd give it a 1-month go.
My January box arrived Saturday morning and it took everything in me to save it until Sunday to open and photograph. But it was worth it - the box was full of incredible surprises that I'm excited to use this New Year!
If you are unfamiliar with PopSugar, each monthly Must Have box contains items in 5 categories: fashion, fitness, home, beauty, and food.
The first item I found in the box was an incredibly aesthetically pleasing mug from KeepCup. It's made of a clear BPA and BPS-free plastic and is apparently "barista approved". I honestly don't know what that means, but as long as it keeps my tea hot, we'll be good!
My favorite thing about this mug is that it has an attached plug that swivels to cover and uncover the mouthpiece. Hopefully, this means the number of shirts I ruin with hot liquid will decrease dramatically!
With this being the January box, it makes perfect sense that PopSugar would include a calendar this month! This millennial pink holographic beauty is from Ban.do and features 12 super fun illustrations that will make gorgeous wall art after each month passes.
BONUS JONAS: There's a whole sheet of stickers in the back!
BONUS JONAS #2: Each piece of artwork was created by a different badass lady!
Two items were chosen for the "health" category this round. The first of which was an RXBAR - a protein bar that fits everyone's diet needs. Gluten free, soy free, and dairy free, these bars pack a punch with 12g of protein! And the one that PopSugar chose, the Chocolate Sea Salt flavor, was delicious! (Trust me, that's a big deal coming from me. My idea of "healthy" is organic boxed mac 'n cheese.)
The second was a tube of Nuun vitamins. Nuun is a brand that has intrigued me for a while. These vitamins aren't chewable or pill-type tablets, they're dissolvable! All I have to do is drop one in my water (16 oz! which also happens to be the size of the KeepCup) and let it disintegrate. I LOVE this Strawberry Melon flavor and think that this is a fun (and tasty) way to get my daily dose of vitamins A, C, D, E, & B6, as well as folic acid, magnesium, potassium, and calcium! Plus: they're only 10 calories!
Perhaps the most exciting inclusion to me was this HONEY DROP moisturizer from Farmacy Beauty. Self-described as a "farm-to-skin" brand, Farmacy's formulas include only the very best ingredients - and this moisturizer is no different! It's free of parabens, formaldehyde, artificial coloring, and is NOT tested on animals (YAY!). I'm looking forward to working this into my daily skincare routine.
OH! And the best part, the lid is magnetic - meaning I won't lose the little metal spatula!
I'll be sure to post an update on how I'm getting along with it on my Instagram in a few weeks!
Lastly, my January PopSugar Must Have box included an adorable, grey beanie. This lightweight, ribbed hat comes from the brand, Hat Attack and is SO cozy! It's the perfect winter neutral and is able to be worn cuffed or slouchy depending on my mood (and outfit)! I'm not going to lie, I've already worn it and the insanely soft material made me forget that it was even on my head.
So, I did the math, and the total value of this box is $136.99! HOLY CRAP. It only costs $39.95/mo., so that's INSANE! I'm so stoked about everything in my first PSMH box and cannot wait to continue checking them out!
Cheers to trying many new things this year!
